AFA Saturday September 21st Practicum

Topic – Creativity and Improv in Your Scenes

PractiCum is back!! It’s been a great summer break but it’s time to get the creative juices flowing. We are so excited to be getting together for our next PractiCum on Saturday, September 21st from 3:00 – 5:30 pm. The PractiCum is a hands-on learning lab for putting into action the information imparted in AFA core classes, sharing information, and networking with fellow kinksters. PractiCum’s content is meant to be driven by the wants and needs of the people attending. It’s designed to practice, share skills/information, and get some real-life experience.

This month we are trying something different…IMPROV! We are hoping to get some creative thinking and play going by everyone, experience level doesn’t matter today. You do not need to unpack your toy bag for this one either, we are going to provide you with everything you need and get you thinking outside of the box for creating a scene. Come with an open mind and get ready for brainstorming and laughter as we create toys and great scenes out of everyday items. We’ll be doing this as a collective and sharing ideas with each other, hopefully through the laughter and fun. You won’t want to miss this one!

Lastly, you can put this information together and practice some of the new ideas or some skills you are hoping to perfect. Facilitators will be available to help ensure that you are set-up for success. Feel free to ask a facilitator for some one-on-one help with a skill as well as feedback on how you are doing.

PractiCum’s member-driven discussion topics and “learn by doing” approach to practicing ethical negotiation and play provide insights to elevate your play no matter what your level (and it’s a great way to get to know your fellow kinksters at AFA).

Who It’s For:

PractiCum is free to full AFA members. Newcomers are very welcome but must complete Orientation and purchase a full annual membership for $60 in cash or $62 with a credit card, prior to start time. Doors open at 2 pm and orientation starts promptly at 2:10 pm. Please bring a current ID.

Facilitators will lead discussion, share skills, and oversee negotiations and play.

What to Bring:
 Your favorite negotiating tools (kink cards, cheat sheets – anything that helps you negotiate!)
 Ideas for a short-duration (~10 minute) scene you’ve always wanted to try. Want to try out a piece of equipment or toy? This is a great way to experiment! (Please Note: unless otherwise announced, no wax or fire scenes due to space constraints, and all aftercare will be on the main floor)
 Whatever toys/gear you need to make that scene happen
 Any toys you’d like to sharpen your skills with or you (or a friend!) might like to try out
 A pen and a notebook to take notes on the action for feedback and discussion

Doors open 2:00 PM
(Orientation class starts promptly at 2:15 PM)
